As you already know (or not) at iCasque we are bikers generation after generation and since we don’t have a foosball table in the office, we mostly talk about bikes! Sometimes about serious topics, often about crazy ideas, we share motorcycle tips and we even get into the most scandalous topics like style or looks. There you have it, we talk about style at the office too! We even decided to fully embrace it and share with you life in the open-plan office, at least part of it, we can’t tell you everything either! At the beginning of the week, Amaury, the young whippersnapper of the team arrives with the biggest smile and tells us he has found a buyer for his 2013 Honda CB 500F, which will allow him to become the happy owner of the new CB650F he chose in the red "Millennium" color for a sportier and less dirty style than his old white bike. Needless to say, the little guy is over the moon! Right away, he really wants to change his white Scorpion Exo 2000 Air for a red motorcycle helmet for a 100% matching look. By the way, if you want to recommend a model to him, feel free to let him know in the comments. Finally, it’s true, when you think about it, color has a major influence in the motorcycle world, you just have to look at the MotoGP starting grid, it immediately jumps out at you, every motorcycle brand has a color that gives it a strong identity and although we are not all Grand Prix riders obliged to show up in our team colors, we express a part of our personality through the color of our bike and our gear. Hey yes, I told you, we don’t just mess around at iCasque, we also ask ourselves real existential questions! We even think that Amaury turned to a red bike this year because he finally got a tan, it gives him wings and he wanted a color that makes a statement, just like Austin St. John, the leader of the Power Rangers! After that, it’s true that there are green KTMs and orange KAWASAKIs but honestly when we talk about motorcycle brands, there is always a color that immediately comes to mind. Also, our motorcycle gear is a bit like our armor so just like the Bioman, Power Rangers and other superheroes, we want a color that represents us. Right? Well okay, now we think we might be completely crazy and that black helmets and white helmets remain bestsellers anyway, so we decided to ask you on social media to find out more about your color concerns. And here is what came out of it! First of all, when asked if you are one of those who match their motorcycle and gear, 67% of you answered YES! Let’s face it, choosing motorcycle gear is just as important as choosing your outfit for a first Meetic date. Among the Twitter crowd, the same thing, 73% of participants think it’s cool to have your motorcycle and gear in the same colors and honestly we totally agree with @greglegeek, his black and orange helmet totally matches his KTM and it looks awesome! Matching your motorcycle and gear is a matter of style for the majority but not only… Since for 65% of respondents it is also a visibility gain and therefore safety. There are also high visibility helmets that make the most of flashy colors but for those who prefer to stick with black or matte black helmets, there is even a model at Shark, the Skwal full face helmet which incorporates LEDs to increase your visibility on the road, without having to opt for colored gear. When asked about your favorite helmet color, without much surprise for us, black takes the top spot on the podium, followed by red and … Yellow! This time, the last one in the TOP 3 created the surprise effect! We didn’t expect it. A ranking that will perhaps finish convincing @ASO_photography who is reluctant to wear yellow… Canary yellow of course! Capture d’écran 2017 06 20 à 14.02.06 Among those who answer NO, it is very often the financial aspect that is highlighted. They favor neutral and sober colors so that their outfit matches everything and thus avoid renewing their gear when they change motorcycles. 1200x627 v1 Capture d’écran 2017 06 20 à 14.00.07 It is true that the annoying thing about passions is that we have to dedicate a budget to them… Notice, it is better to be passionate about motorcycles and dig into your personal deficit for maximum pleasure than to be a philatelist and put the price of a used (or even new) bike into a stamp album! Don’t you think? greglegeek ktm So to summarize, what we take away is that having a 100% matching look appeals to most of you even if the budget issue makes some of you hesitate! At iCasque, we like to please you so we won’t offer you a collection of old stamps to collect but we have prepared a selection of colorful helmets , very nice prices that will have no reason to make you blush if you give in to some new gear! Thank you to all the survey participants! V
