The Valencia Grand Prix has brought an extraordinary year to a close. So, it is with a touch of sadness that I write these few lines, as it will be a very long wait until the end of March and the first circuit in Qatar, which will open the new 2015 MotoGP season.

My impatience can be explained by the season we have just passionately lived through! The extraterrestrial Marquez has become the man of all records after winning another world title in MotoGP. The youngest world champion in the history of the premier class beat the record of Australian Mick Doohan (1997) this year by claiming his 13th victory of the season in Valencia! His 13 poles of the year are just as enormous and earn the admiration of his peers. Everyone will agree that the 21-year-old Spaniard evolved on another planet during the 2014 season.

But if by chance, Marc Marquez returns to earth in 2015, then the MotoGP saga will take on yet another dimension because we have found our nine-time world champion again in the person of the eternal Valentino Rossi. Forget the two nightmare years at Ducati, by signing with Yamaha, the Italian veteran returned to the forefront of the scene with a 2014 world runner-up finish. What a year! No one would have dared to bet on such a scenario. The famous 46 reconnected with victory twice this season (Misano and Phillip Island) by winning the regular season and even signed his 50th pole to finish the season in Valencia. A comeback full of promises for 2015.

In the Yamaha Team, we will also be happy to see Jorge Lorenzo again, who certainly failed in his quest to conquer the status of the extraterrestrial's heir with strategic choices that were not always judicious, but who knew how to ride with talent throughout the second half of the season. Assuredly, the four-time world champion from Majorca will still be a serious title contender in 2015. A black year in MotoGP for Lorenzo, it is still a 3rd place on the podium behind Marquez and Rossi.

Finally, if Dani Pedrosa logically comes to complete the trio and Dovizioso and Iannone from Ducati join the fight, the 2015 MotoGP saga will be pure bliss. We will also follow Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales with great interest for the return of the Suzuki manufacturer to MotoGP, as well as that of the Aprilia Team, not forgetting Miller's debut in MotoGP. Can't wait for 2015 and thank you to all these warriors for this magnificent spectacle.
