The best motorcycle anti-theft device is still you…

You worked hard all year and now you have enough money to buy your two-wheeler. Buying this motorcycle is a bit like fulfilling a dream. In the city, you now parade at the handlebars of your steed. But one day, out of the blue, everything falls apart! To save money, you didn't want to buy a new motorcycle lock from your favorite online equipment retailer (it's us, of course www.icasque.com).
You kept your old lock that used to protect your good old scooter. Too late, it was a bad choice.
Indeed, the lock must also be adapted to your two-wheeler. The unboltable "U", as you have understood, is my favorite lock system, must for example be long enough to be able to secure your motorcycle (not just the wheel) to a fixed point. The length of the arms, their spacing and their diameter must be adapted to your two-wheeler.
If several protection systems exist, the "U", the chain or even the disc lock (although the latter does not really have my favor), the best protection device is still you. Forget electronics, think of elbow grease! Rule number 1 is to always secure your 2-wheeler to a fixed point in a sufficiently busy and well-lit place (even for 5 minutes). Securing it protects you from the motorcycle removal technique against which no device is effective.
Finally, before buying a motorcycle lock, also think about taking a look at your insurance contract. Indeed, to be covered against theft, you must respect the conditions of application of the theft guarantee of your contract. At the Mutuelle des Motards for example, to protect your 2-wheeler, you must use a mechanical or electronic lock approved by the FFMC "Stop Theft" commission ("NF certified recommended by FFMC")...
