DESCRIPTION

HJC C50 – Lightweight polycarbonate motocross helmet designed for off-road riding

The HJC C50 is a motocross helmet designed to offer an excellent balance of comfort and protection on the track and on off-road rides. A wind tunnel-tested APC composite shell, tool-free visor, ACS ventilation, and optimized compatibility with motocross goggles: it has everything you need to ride effectively, without any unnecessary features.

HJC C50 motocross helmet: versatility at the service of performance

In motocross, the helmet must remain lightweight, well ventilated, and sufficiently stable under acceleration and at high speeds. The HJC C50 was developed with this in mind, featuring an APC – Advanced Polycarbonate Composite shell designed using CAD tools to provide a precise fit. Two shell sizes help distribute the volume better according to head size.

Its visor was tested in a wind tunnel using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations to provide maximum stability and reduce drag at high speeds. It can be removed and reinstalled without tools, saving time during quick changes on the track. The ventilation cover located at the mouth is also removable, making it easier to clean after intense sessions.

In terms of comfort, the antibacterial fabric liner promotes better moisture wicking and quick drying. The head liner and cheek pads are removable, washable, and interchangeable across all sizes, allowing you to fine-tune the fit without changing helmets. The C50 also features a specific groove for glasses temples and a fit designed to provide excellent support with motocross goggles.

Why choose the HJC C50?

The C50 first impresses with its technical credentials at an affordable price: a wind tunnel-tested shell, a CFD-optimized visor, and an effective ventilation system—features rarely found together on an entry-level motocross helmet.

Its design, intended for wearing with motocross goggles, with a dedicated fit and a groove for glasses, also allows you to ride with full equipment without compromising comfort. Finally, the cheek pads, which are interchangeable across all sizes, offer a considerable range of adjustment to fine-tune the fit as you use it.

Ventilation and comfort

On the track, exertion and heat build up quickly. The C50's ACS system circulates air from the front to the back of the helmet to help dissipate heat and moisture, while the removable ventilation cover at the mouth makes cleaning easier after a muddy or dusty session.

The antibacterial liner promotes quick drying, and both the head liner and cheek pads are fully removable and washable for easy maintenance between rides.

Visor and aerodynamics

Unlike a full-face road helmet, the C50 features a visor (peak) rather than a face shield, as is standard on a motocross helmet designed to be used with goggles. This visor was specifically tested in a wind tunnel using CFD simulations to limit wind resistance and improve stability at high speeds. It can be removed and reinstalled without tools, a practical advantage for maintenance or replacement after a crash.

Goggle and glasses compatibility

The HJC C50 was designed to comfortably accommodate motocross goggles, with space and support specifically engineered for this purpose. A dedicated groove also allows you to wear prescription glasses under the helmet, a significant comfort point for riders who need them.

Maintenance tips

After each ride, remove the removable ventilation cover to clean it with warm water and remove accumulated mud and dust.

As the head liner and cheek pads are removable, wash them regularly by hand with mild soap, then let them air dry away from any direct heat source.

Regularly check the visor mounting and the condition of the double D-ring closure to keep your helmet reliable over time.
